NASCAR - Craftsman Truck - Camping World RV Sales 200 Preview

NOTES: Last year, Johnny Benson became the first back-to-back winner of this race, as he defeated Ron Hornaday Jr for his sixth career Craftsman Truck Series title. Benson, who started fourth on the grid, reclaimed the lead on lap 160 and held the advantage throughout, as he clipped Hornaday by less than a second. Pole sitter Mike Skinner led the race for the first 103 laps, but finished fourth. Benson led for a total of 96 laps, while Hornaday led for one. Benson, the current points leader, now has nine career titles, but is winless in 2008. Driver Michael Annett will celebrate his 22nd birthday a couple of days early, as he joins the Bill Davis Racing's No. 22 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series team this week. Annett is part of Bill Davis Racing driver developmental program, as he moves to the Series from the ARCA. Annett will share time with Red Bull Racing's Scott Speed for the remainder of the 2008 season. When Benson won in 2006, it was his second straight Craftsman victory, as he defeated Mike Bliss by 2.249 seconds. For the sixth time in series history a driver won his first two races as consecutive wins. Hornaday, who started on the pole and led four times for 102 laps, finished third. In 2005, Dennis Setzer lapped all but three cars en route to a dominating victory, as he recorded his 14th Craftsman Truck title. Setzer, who crossed the finish line 3.993 seconds ahead of Jack Sprague, led for 152 of the 200 laps. Sprague, the pole sitter, led for the first 43. The win was Setzer's second of that campaign and second straight in front of a crowd of 26,571. With the win, Setzer set a new race record of 109.907 m.p.h. The leader of wins at mile-long tracks among both active and inactive drivers is Ron Hornaday Jr with nine victories, one on every one of the seven tracks on which he has competed since 1995. Right behind him is his teammate, Jack Sprague, with seven. Active drivers with three or more mile-track victories are Benson with four, and Ted Musgrave, Mike Skinner and Dennis Setzer with three each. The pole sitter has captured this race five times, the last coming in 2004, when Ted Musgrave dominated the event, leading 109 laps for a 1.479 seconds win over Chad Chaffin. After seven consecutive races, the Craftsman Truck Series championship takes a week off, as they head to Tennessee on June 28th for the O'Reilly 200 at Memphis Motorsports Park, where Travis Kvapil defends his title. 06/17 14:02:04 ET
