NASCAR - Camping World Truck - Built Ford Tough 225 Preview

NOTES: Last year, Ron Hornaday Jr became the first pole sitter to capture this race, as he defeated Mike Skinner by less than a second for his 43rd career Truck Series title. In the process, Hornaday also became the first two-time winner of this race, having also captured the checkered flag in 2006. Hornaday led four times for 29 laps, including the final 18, as he clipped Skinner by 0.135 of a second. Hornaday, who's win total now stands at 46, has been stuck on three for the past several races, placing third in three consecutive events. His last victory came in mid-July at Indianapolis. Hornaday currently ranks fifth on the points list, 328 behind Todd Bodine. After placing second in his first appearance here, Bodine has failed to finish inside the top-10 since. Kyle Busch, fresh off his win last week in Chicago, is shooting for his 80th career national series victory this week in Kentucky. Johnny Benson led the last 32 laps in 2008, as he clipped Michael Annett by less than a second for his 11th career Truck Series title. Benson, who led for a race-high 94 laps, crossed the finish line 0.474 seconds ahead of Annett. Pole sitter Mike Skinner placed seventh, leading twice for 10 laps. Kyle Busch led 43 laps in the early going, but ended up with a sixth-place finish. Mike Skinner dominated this race in 2007, as he led 135 of 150 laps, en route to his 23rd career Truck Series title. He crossed the finish line 5.570 seconds ahead of Travis Kvapil. Skinner, who led on four separate occasions, reclaimed the advantage on lap 105 and cruised to victory. Pole sitter Ryan Matthews finished fourth. The victory was one of five 2007 titles for Skinner, who now totals 28 career wins. In 2006, Ron Hornaday Jr crossed the finish line two truck lengths ahead of Rick Crawford for his 29th career Truck Series title. Hornaday, who started from the 22nd position on the grid, led for 47 laps, including the final 22, as he won for the second time in 2006. Pole sitter Marcos Ambrose led for a race-high 49 laps, but finished 19th. The winner at Kentucky Speedway over the past 10 seasons usually has the inside track at capturing the Series title. Seven of the last 10 winners of this race have gone on to win the Truck Series crown. Only in 2001 (Scott Riggs), 2003 (Carl Edwards) and 2005 (Dennis Setzer) were the winners not also a champion. The Camping World Truck Series moves to New Hampshire in two weeks for the September 18th running of TheRaceDayRaffleSeries.com 175 at New Hampshire International. Kyle Busch is the defending race winner. 08/31 15:41:38 ET
