Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) - Washington Nationals minor league pitcher Stephen Strasburg was tagged with his first loss on Saturday as the Syracuse Chiefs fell 3-2 to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.
Strasburg (3-1) allowed six hits and three runs over five innings. He also had two walks and fanned six batters.
Strasburg was the No. 1 overall draft pick from last year and he signed for a record $15.1 million over four years with the Nationals in August.
It's still not known when the Nationals are going to call up the phenom to pitch in the majors, but that should happen sometime next month. Reports have indicated Strasburg could make his debut for the June 8-10 series against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
