Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Conor Jackson left Wednesday's 5-4 loss to Philadelphia in the eighth inning with a bruise under his right eye following a collision at first base with the Phillies' Shane Victorino.
Victorino struck out swinging and the ball eluded Arizona catcher Chris Snyder. As the speedy Victorino barreled down the line, Jackson reached out in an attempt to field Snyder's throw and the end result was a nasty head-to-head collision. Jackson laid face-down for several minutes and eventually retreated to the locker room. Chris Burke replaced Jackson at first base.
"I feel a little nauseous and have a headache," said Jackson.
Jackson, celebrating his 26th birthday, was 2-for-3 with two RBI and is listed as day-to-day.
