Padres' Iguchi heads to DL with separated shoulder

Fri 6th, June 2008

San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - San Diego Padres infielder Tadahito Iguchi was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a separated right shoulder on Friday.

He suffered the injury in Thursday's 2-1 win over the New York Mets.

In the seventh inning with Iguchi running from second base, Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a grounder in the hole between shortstop and third. Iguchi, as he was hit with the batted ball, fell on his right shoulder.

Padres manager Bud Black said that Iguchi will miss at least four weeks.

The 33-year-old Iguchi is batting .259 with two home runs and 20 runs batted in this season. In his fourth major league season, Iguchi has a career .273 average, 44 homers and 201 RBI with the Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego.

The Padres also recalled infielder Craig Stansberry from Triple-A Portland and reinstated pitcher Clay Hensley from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Portland on Friday.
