Nationals lefty Perez heads to DL

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Washington Nationals left-hander Odalis Perez was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday with left shoulder tendinitis.
Perez, who is 2-5 with a 4.09 earned run average this season, last started June 3 against St. Louis, but was pulled after three innings. Tyler Clippard, who was called up from Triple-A Columbus on Monday to make a spot start in place of Perez, again got the call and will start Saturday against the Seattle Mariners.
Clippard allowed three runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings in a losing effort on Monday in his first appearance with the Nationals.
