San Diego Padres (5-3) at San Francisco Giants (1-6), 10:15 p.m.

(Sports Network) - After making his first-ever relief appearance, Tim Lincecum will get the start for the San Francisco Giants, who continue a three-game series versus the San Diego Padres tonight at AT&T Park.

Lincecum will technically be making his first start of the season tonight. He was slated to start last Thursday's game versus the Dodgers, but after LA held back its starter due to the possibility of inclement weather that would arrive during the game, Lincecum also did not start.

Instead, the right-hander entered the game in the fourth inning and interestingly enough, ended up pitching before and after a one hour and 14 minute rain delay anyway. When all was said and done, Lincecum got the win after allowing just one run over four innings on four hits.

In his young career, Lincecum, who made 24 starts last year, is 0-1 with a 2.03 earned run average in two starts versus the Padres.

After spending last season with the Dodgers, Randy Wolf made his Padres debut last Thursday and pitched very well. The left-hander held Houston to only one run on four hits while striking out five over six innings, but got a no- decision in his club's eventual 3-2 victory.

Wolf, 32, split two starts versus the Giants last year and is 5-4 with a 4.11 ERA in 10 career starts against them.

San Diego took the opener of this set on Monday, as Khalil Greene went 2-for-3 with three RBI and Greg Maddux hurled seven strong innings to lift the Padres past San Francisco, 8-4, in the Giants' home-opener.

Maddux (1-0) scattered three hits and one run, striking out five and walking a pair en route to his 348th career victory. Adrian Gonzalez finished 4-for-5 with two runs batted in and scored four times for the Padres, winners in three of five. Jim Edmonds added two hits and two RBI.

Bengie Molina went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three driven in for the Giants, who have dropped four straight. Matt Cain (0-1) suffered the loss after getting charged with seven hits and five runs -- four earned -- with five walks and five strikeouts over 4 1/3 frames.

San Francisco played its first home opener without Barry Bonds on the roster since 1992. The team cut ties with baseball's all-time home run king and seven-time NL MVP during the winter, ending a 15-year association.

San Diego won 14 of its 18 encounters with San Francisco in 2007 and went 6-3 at AT&T Park last season. The Padres have taken 11 of the last 12 meetings between the NL West rivals.
