Baltimore Orioles (6-1) at Texas Rangers (3-4), 8:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Balttimore Orioles try to continue their terrific start to the season this evening when they play the middle contest of their three- gmae series with Texas at Rangers Ballpark.

In the opener of this set on Tuesday, Aubrey Huff finished 4-for-4 with four RBI and Brian Burres was stellar on the mound, as Baltimore rolled to an 8-1 win. Luke Scott and Scott Moore each belted their first home runs of the season for the Orioles, who have won six straight after dropping the season- opener and are off to their best start since opening the 1998 campaign 7-1.

Baltimore has not won seven in a row since an eight-game tear from April 22- May 1, 2005.

Burres (1-0), celebrating his 27th birthday on Tuesday, allowed one run on seven hits and struck out three over six-plus innings. Matt Albers fanned four in his two innings of relief, while Greg Aquino tossed a perfect ninth.

Jason Jennings (0-2) struggled on the mound for Texas, allowing four runs on seven hits and four walks over 4 2/3 innings. Ben Broussard and Milton Bradley each had two hits for the Rangers, who have lost four of seven to begin the season.

Veteran Steve Trachsel goes for the Orioles tonight, looking for his second straight victory. The 37-year-old right-hander defeated Seattle, 7-4, on April 4, allowing two runs on four hits over 5 2/3 innings.

A 15-game winner with the New York Mets in 2006, Trachsel split last season between Baltimore and the Chicago Cubs, going 7-11 in 29 starts. He's made four lifetime starts against the Rangers, going 1-1 with a 7.06 ERA in 21 2/3 innings.

Former Boston Red Sox prospect Kason Gabbard takes the hill for the Rangers this evening. A 25-year-old southpaw, Gabbard made his season debut on April 4 in Anaheim, allowing seven hits in seven scoreless innings of the Rangers' 11-6 defeat of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

He appeared in seven games last season with the Red Sox, going 4-0 with a 3.73 earned run average in 41 innings before coming to Texas as part of the deal that sent relief pitcher Eric Gagne to the eventual World Series champions.

Gabbard is 8-4 in 23 career big-league appearances, including 20 starts, allowing 99 hits and 52 earned runs in 114 innings. He's made two starts against the Orioles, going 1-0 with a 2.53 ERA over 10 2/3 innings.

Texas won six of its 10 matchups with the Orioles last season and is 18-12 in the series since the start of the 2005 campaign, including an 11-8 mark in Arlington in that time.
