San Diego Padres (5-4) at San Francisco Giants (2-6), 10:15 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The San Francisco Giants will try to win their first series of the season tonight, when they conclude a three-game set with the San Diego Padres at AT&T Park.

The Giants dropped five of six on the road to open the season, then lost their home opener on Monday versus the Padres. However, the club bounced back with a 3-2 extra-inning victory on Tuesday night. Bengie Molina hit a pair of homers, including the winning solo blast off Cla Meredith with one out in the bottom of the 11th inning.

Randy Winn had two hits and an RBI in the win. Tim Lincecum gave up seven hits and a run while striking out seven over six innings for the Giants, who snapped a four-game skid to move to 2-6 on the season.

Brad Hennessey (1-0) fanned three batters over the final two innings to get the victory.

Brian Giles singled four times and knocked in a run while Khalil Greene had an RBI for the Padres. San Diego recorded 13 hits -- all singles -- and has dropped two of its last three games.

Randy Wolf was charged with five hits and two runs over the first six innings for the Padres.

Jonathan Sanchez will make his first career start versus the Padres tonight and just the 10th starting assignment of his young career. However, the 25- year-old has faced the Padres seven times in relief, posting a 3.12 earned run average against them.

Sanchez made his first start of the season on Friday against Milwaukee and was shelled for seven runs on seven hits in four innings, despite striking out eight. The setback dropped the left-hander to 1-5 with an 8.15 ERA in his career as a starter.

Justin Germano will try to duplicate his first start of the season tonight, with better results for his team. The San Diego right-hander allowed just three hits and one unearned run in six innings versus the Dodgers on Friday and left the game with the score even at 1-1. However, the Padres went on to loss the game, 7-1, after his exit.

The 25-year-old won his first five decisions last year after entering the starting rotation due to injury, and a decent spring that saw him display good control earned him the fifth spot in the rotation at the start of this season.

Germano has faced the Giants three times in his career, twice as a starter, and has a 2.84 ERA against them without a decision.

San Diego won 14 of its 18 encounters with San Francisco in 2007 and went 6-3 at AT&T Park last season. The Padres have taken 11 of the last 13 meetings between the NL West rivals.
