Seattle Mariners (3-5) at Tampa Bay Rays (3-4), 7:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Andy Sonnanstine tries to get Tampa Bay back on track this evening when the Rays play the middle contest of their three-game series with the Seattle Mariners at Tropicana Field.

Sonnanstine picked up a win in his season debut on Friday against the New York Yankees, as he allowed four runs and six hits over six innings in a 13-4 victory.

The 25-year-old righty defeated the Mariners the only other time he faced them, giving up just a run and six hits over seven innings. He also fanned eight and walked two in that one.

Tampa fell for the third straight time on Tuesday, as Richie Sexson went 2- for-4 with three RBI in Seattle's 6-5 victory. Ichiro Suzuki had three hits and scored twice while Brad Wilkerson drove in a pair of runs for the Mariners, who snapped a four-game slide.

Erik Bedard (1-0) got the win as he gave up five runs -- three earned -- on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts in six innings of work.

Carlos Pena and Shawn Riggans each hit solo home runs for the Rays, who have dropped their last three games after opening the year with wins in three of their first four contests.

Matt Garza started on the mound for Tampa, but left in the third inning with radial nerve irritation in his right elbow. He gave up three runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings of work and was placed on the 15-day disabled list after the game. Gary Glover (0-1) was saddled with the loss as he gave up two runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings of work.

Seattle will have veteran left-hander Jarrod Washburn on the hill this evening. Washburn lost his first start of the year to the Baltimore Orioles, allowing three runs and six hits in five innings of the 7-4 setback.

Washburn, though, has owned the Rays over the course of his career, going 10-3 against them with a 2.69 ERA in 15 starts.

Seattle won four of its seven meetings with the Rays last season and is 15-8 in the series since the start of the 2005 campaign. The M's are also 6-4 in their last 10 in St. Pete.
