Cincinnati Reds (6-6) at Pittsburgh Pirates (5-6), 1:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Early-season phenom Johnny Cueto makes his third start of his first year in the big leagues when the Cincinnati Reds head back to Pittsburgh's PNC Park today for the last of three straight games with the homestanding Pirates.

Cueto, who turned just 22 in February, has made two appearances thus far for the Reds, winning once and getting a no decision in the other while allowing just six hits and three runs over 13 1/3 innings. The Dominican has struck out 18 and walked none.

He pitched most recently at Milwaukee on Tuesday, scattering five hits and two runs with eight strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings of the Reds' 3-2 loss to the Brewers.

Pittsburgh will go with lefty Tom Gorzelanny, who emerged as the team's premier pitcher last season with 14 victories.

The 25-year-old, a former second-round draft pick in 2003, has been hit hard in two starts thus far in 2008, allowing 12 hits and 10 runs in just 8 1/3 innings.

He got a no decision in his last outing Monday against the Chicago Cubs, surrendering six hits and seven runs in 2 1/3 innings of a 10-8 Pittsburgh loss.

Gorzelanny has split two career starts against the Reds, going 1-1 with a 6.75 earned run average in 12 innings. He has struck out seven and walked four in those games.

The Pirates have won the first two games of this series and edged the Reds by a 4-3 score on Saturday. Nate McLouth was 2-for-5 for Pittsburgh and singled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Xavier Nady went 2-for-4 with a run scored and one knocked in for the Pirates, who lost three straight to the Cubs prior to this set. Doug Mientkiewicz had a double and scored a run in the win.

Pirates starter Ian Snell (2-0) got the win after working 6 1/3 innings and giving up three runs on nine hits while fanning two. Matt Capps earned his third save by giving up only one hit in a scoreless ninth.

Joey Votto was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Reds, who had a two-game win streak prior to the two losses to Pittsburgh. Jeff Keppinger had a 3-for-5 day with an RBI, but stranded four runners.

Ken Griffey, Jr. and Brandon Phillips each had two hits for Cincinnati, but slugger Adam Dunn went 0-for-5.

Reds starter Bronson Arroyo went five innings and gave up three runs -- two earned -- on six hits for a no decision. Mike Lincoln (0-1) got the loss after giving up a run on two hits in two innings of work.

Cincinnati won the season series with the Pirates, 9-7, a year ago.
