Colorado Rockies (5-7) at San Diego Padres (7-6), 10:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Ubaldo Jimenez enjoyed his last trip to San Diego. The Rockies starter will try tonight for another stellar outing in the Padres' home park when Colorado begins a three-game series with San Diego.

Jimenez dominated in his only career start at Petco Park, holding the Padres to just one run in six shutout innings, while striking out nine in a victory on August 15, 2007.

The right-hander is 1-1 with a 4.91 earned run average in two starts this year. After losing his season debut in St. Louis on April 3, Jimenez gave up three runs and six hits in six innings of a home victory over Atlanta on April 8. He walked four in that victory, giving him nine free passes to seven strikeouts on the season.

Colorado will try to back Jimenez with some more run support tonight, after exploding in a 13-5 victory over Arizona on Sunday. Clint Barmes, Matt Holliday and Garrett Atkins each had three hits and a home run.

The victory was Colorado's fourth in six games and helped them avoid getting swept in a three-game series by the Diamondbacks for a second straight time this year.

Barmes tallied four runs batted in, while Holliday and Atkins both plated three each. Yorvit Torrealba added two runs batted in, and starter Aaron Cook (1-1) was awarded the win after allowing three runs on eight hits and three walks through six innings.

Holliday extended his hitting streak to eight games and he is hitting .394 over the run that includes all three of his homers this year and 11 RBI. Holliday has two hits and a long ball in six career at-bats against tonight's starter for the Padres, Randy Wolf.

Despite a good start to the season, Wolf is still looking for his first victory in a Padres uniform. Wolf has allowed just three runs in 12 innings so far this year, including a two-run, six-inning effort versus the Giants on April 8. However, his club went on to lose 3-2.

The left-hander, who pitched with the Dodgers last year, is 3-1 with a complete game and 4.19 ERA in seven career starts against the Rockies. He did not face them last year.

San Diego won its rubber match with the Dodgers on Sunday, as Paul McAnulty knocked in the lone run of the contest, plating Jim Edmonds, and Greg Maddux picked up his 349th career win in a 1-0 victory.

Maddux (2-0) threw five shutout innings, surrendering only a pair of hits and a walk, while striking out two. Trevor Hoffman got his fourth save of the season in the win.

Colorado won 11 of its 19 matchups with San Diego last year, including five of nine at Petco Park. The Rockies also won a one-game playoff over the Padres to clinch the NL wild card.
