Minnesota Twins (6-7) at Detroit Tigers (3-10), 7:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - After receiving the breakout offensive performance they've been searching for, the Detroit Tigers hope to build off some newfound momentum in tonight's finale of a two-game series with the visiting Minnesota Twins.

Detroit entered last night's matchup ranked last in the majors with 33 runs scored, but busted out for 11 runs over the final three innings against the Twins to rally for an 11-9 victory.

Carlos Guillen led the Tigers' 16-hit onslaught by going 3-for-4 with three RBI in his return to the lineup. Ivan Rodriguez also knocked in three runs, including a two-RBI triple during Detroit's six-run eighth inning that tied the contest at 9-9.

Rodriguez also had a solo homer on the evening, while Magglio Ordonez collected three hits and an RBI for the Tigers, who halted a two-game losing streak in which the club was shut out on both occasions. Detroit still owns the worst record in baseball at 3-10.

The onslaught made a winner out of reliever Francis Beltran, who tossed a scoreless top of the eighth. Todd Jones held the Twins scoreless in the ninth to notch his second save of the year.

Delmon Young went 3-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI for Minnesota, which has lost two in a row after a three-game win streak. Jason Kubel, Denard Span, Brendan Harris, and Adam Everett each had two hits.

Twins rookie starter Nick Blackburn gave up four runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings and remained without his first career MLB win. Relievers Matt Guerrier and Pat Neshek combined to allowed seven runs -- six earned -- on eight hits over the final 2 1/3 frames.

Guillen was back at first base on Monday after sitting out Detroit's previous two contests due to a mild hamstring strain.

The Tigers may need another big offensive outburst tonight, considering the way scheduled starter Nate Robertson has pitched in the early going.

Robertson was tagged for five runs in a five-inning no decision against Chicago on April 4 and wasn't any better in his second start of the year. The left-hander surrendered four runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 frames at Boston this past Thursday, taking the loss in a 12-6 Detroit setback.

Robertson is coming off a disappointing 9-13 campaign but did fare well when facing Minnesota last season. In four 2007 starts against the Twins, the Wichita State product went 2-1 with a 1.93 earned run average and worked seven innings in each of those games.

For his career Robertson is 7-8 with a 3.73 ERA in 19 appearances versus Minnesota, 18 of which have been starts.

Scott Baker takes the ball tonight for the Twins and is seeking his third straight victory to start the season. The young righty benefited from a wealth of run support last Wednesday in Chicago, where Baker allowed three runs and struck out seven over five innings in Minnesota's 12-6 decision.

Baker was sharp in his season debut back on April 4, limiting Kansas City to three runs and not issuing a walk in 6 2/3 innings to record the win.

The 26-year-old is just 2-3 in seven lifetime outings against Detroit, but has posted a solid 3.57 ERA over that span. Baker has also yielded just three runs and eight hits over 15 innings in two career starts at Comerica Park.

Detroit won 12 of its 18 encounters with Minnesota last season, but the Twins had a 5-4 edge in the games held in the Motor City.
