Texas Rangers (7-11) at Boston Red Sox (12-7), 1:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox shoot for their fourth straight win this afternoon when they continue their four-game set with the Texas Rangers at Fenway Park.

After winning the series opener on Friday, Boston made it two in a row against the Rangers on Saturday, as Manny Ramirez's 496th career home run highlighted a three-run eighth inning in a 5-3 win.

Jon Lester gave up three runs on 10 hits and struck out five through 6 1/3 innings in a no-decision for Boston, which has won seven of eight. The comeback made a winner out of Javier Lopez (1-0), who recorded the final out in the eighth. Jonathan Papelbon overcame a leadoff single by Hank Blalock in the ninth to notch his sixth save of the season.

David Ortiz finished 1-for-4 with a run scored and a run batted in, while Kevin Youkilis added an RBI double for Boston. Ramirez scored two runs and walked twice in addition to belting his sixth home run of the season.

Jason Jennings was masterful on the mound, allowing three hits and two runs in a no-decision for the Rangers, who have dropped two in a row and seven of nine overall. The 29-year-old right-hander also walked two and struck out one. Jamey Wright tossed a scoreless seventh and Joaquin Benoit (1-1) surrendered three runs on three hits in the eighth to absorb the loss.

Blalock went 3-for-5, while Josh Hamilton, Jason Botts and Adam Melhuse each had two hits and drove in a run for Texas.

Heading to the hill for the Red Sox today will be veteran knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, who is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA. Wakefield received a no-decision on Tuesday against the Cleveland Indians, despite a solid performance. Wakefield gave up two runs and seven hits in six innings of that one, but did not factor in the decision of his team's 5-3 win.

Wakefield has struggled over the course of his lengthy career against the Rangers, going 9-14 with four saves and a 5.66 ERA in 31 games, 24 of which have been starts. However, he has won his last two starts against them.

Texas will counter with a right-handed veteran of its own in 33-year-old Kevin Millwood, who has pitched better than his 1-2 record indicates, as evidenced by his 2.42 ERA. Millwood, though, had his worst start of the season on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, as he allowed four runs and nine hits in five innings, but did not factor in the decision of his team's 7-4 loss.

Millwood is 4-3 lifetime against the Red Sox with a 4.15 ERA in 10 starts.

Boston won six of its 10 encounters with Texas last season and is 20-10 against the Rangers since the start of the 2005 campaign. These teams did split a four-game series in Fenway Park between June 29-July 2, 2007.
