Baltimore Orioles (13-9) at Chicago White Sox (12-9), 1:05 p.m.& 7:05 p.m.(DH)

Game Two: Baltimore - Steve Trachsel (1-3, 5.23) Chicago - Nick Masset (0-0, 3.75)

(Sports Network) - The Chicago White Sox once again try to start up a four- game series with the visiting Baltimore Orioles with a day-night doubleheader at U.S. Cellular Field.

This series was slated to get underway on Friday, but the game was called after just six minutes because of rain, making today's double-dip necessary.

Chicago avoided a three-game sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees on Thursday, as it rallied for a 7-6 win. The victory was just the second in the White Sox' last five games, but they still lead the AL Central by two games over the surging Cleveland Indians.

Jermaine Dye, though, had to leave Thursday's win after six innings with a strained groin. He will likely miss today's doubleheader, but could be ready to go on Sunday.

John Danks heads to the hill in the opener today, as he tries to win his third straight start. Danks picked up the win on Sunday against Tampa, as he scattered three hits over seven scoreless frames to improve to 2-1, while lowering his earned run average to 3.04.

Danks, 23, defeated the O's in his only other start against them, giving up five runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings of that one.

Chicago will give 25-year-old righty Nick Masset a spot start in the nightcap. Masset has been used five times out of the bullpen for the White Sox this season and has pitched to a 3.75 ERA.

The White Sox will be taking on a Baltimore club that has won five of its last seven outings and just took the final two tests of a three-game series in Seattle.

The Orioles will be counting on Brian Burres in the first game. The southpaw came through with a big effort his last time out, as Burres worked 5 2/3 shutout innings against the Yankees on Saturday to lead Baltimore to a 6-0 decision.

Burres has compiled a 2-1 mark and a solid 3.63 earned run average through three starts and one relief appearance this month, although he has walked 10 batters over 17 1/3 innings.

The 27-year-old had a horrific start at U.S. Cellular Field last July, however. Burres was tagged for seven runs on six hits -- including a pair of home runs -- before being pulled with one out in the second inning during an 11-6 loss to Chicago. That was his only career start against the White Sox.

Veteran Steve Trachsel gets the ball for the O's in the nightcap. After winning his season debut Trachsel has lost his last three starts and has pitched to a 5.23 ERA on the season.

The 37-year-old right-hander has faced Chicago five times and is 1-1 with a 7.11 ERA.

These teams split a two-game series in Baltimore last week, but the Orioles have emerged victorious in four of their last five meetings with the Sox. The Orioles drew even with Chicago in a four-game set at U.S. Cellular Field last July.
