Houston Astros (12-12) at St. Louis Cardinals (14-10), 1:10 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Houston pitcher Roy Oswalt seems to be back on track and will lead the Astros this afternoon in the second installment of a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.

Oswalt lost his first three starts of the 2008 season before rebounding with back-to-back victories. He broke out of the funk on April 16 at Philadelphia, hurling seven solid innings of one-run ball. Oswalt then limited San Diego to three runs over seven frames for the win five days later.

The right-hander is 9-5 with a 2.79 earned run average over 23 career appearances (22 starts) against St. Louis.

Houston will rely on Oswalt to get its seventh straight win tonight. It made it six victories in a row after Friday's 3-2 win over St. Louis in the opener of the series, as Carlos Lee belted a solo homer in the ninth inning to put the Astros ahead for good.

Starter Shawn Chacon went seven innings and allowed two runs -- one earned -- on five hits for the no decision. Wesley Wright pitched a scoreless eighth for the win, while Jose Valverde picked up his fourth save in the ninth inning.

The Astros are 3-0 on an eight-game road trip.

Adam Kennedy had a hit and an RBI, while Yadier Molina singled and walked twice for St. Louis, which has lost three of four. Cardinals closer Jason Isringhausen allowed three runs in the ninth inning to absorb the loss after Braden Looper's solid outing. Looper yielded just two hits and a walk in seven innings of work.

St. Louis is 0-1 on a nine-game homestand that will also include visits from NL Central foes Cincinnati and Chicago.

Handling pitching duties for the Cardinals today will be Adam Wainwright, who is 2-1 with a 2.73 ERA over four starts this season.

Wainwright did not factor in the outcome of his last outing on Monday at Milwaukee, as he gave up two runs and four hits in seven frames of a 4-3 triumph over the Brewers.

The right-hander will try to stay perfect in his career versus Houston on Saturday. Wainwright is 2-0 with a 2.22 earned run average in nine career games (three starts) against the Astros.

These two clubs met in Houston in early April, with the Cardinals winning two of three. St. Louis is 11-9 against the Astros since the start of the 2007 season.
