Baltimore Orioles (14-11) at Chicago White Sox (14-10), 2:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Daniel Cabrera takes aim at his third straight win when the Baltimore Orioles conclude their four-game series with the Chicago White Sox this afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field.

Cabrera, who lost a league-high 18 games a year ago and pitched to a 5.55 earned run average in the process, last defeated Seattle on Wednesday. He allowed two runs and five hits in eight innings, while striking out five and more importantly -- walking none.

The 26-year-old right-hander has led the AL in walks in each of the last two seasons and seemed well on his way to doing so again this year, issuing 12 bases-on-balls through his first three starts spanning 16 2/3 innings.

Cabrera, though, has walked just two batters over his last two starts - both wins - and is 2-0 with a 4.40 ERA on the season. The O's have also won all five of his starts.

In seven games against the White Sox, Cabrera is 2-3 with a 5.35 ERA.

Chicago will counter with right-hander Javier Vazquez, who is 3-2 with a 4.40 ERA on the year. Vazquez had a three-start winning streak stopped on Wednesday against the Yankees, as he surrendered six runs and 10 hits in 5 1/3 frames.

Vazquez has had success in his career against the O's, going 6-2 against them with a 5.24 ERA in 11 starts.

In the third game of this set on Sunday, Paul Konerko went 2-for-2 with a pair of solo home runs to lead Chicago to a 6-1 win. Carlos Quentin also had a pair of hits and an RBI for the Sox, who have won two of the first three in this series.

Jose Contreras (2-2) threw 6 2/3 innings for Chicago and only gave up one run on five hits, while fanning three and walking three.

Brian Roberts went 2-for-3 and recorded the only RBI for Baltimore, which has dropped two in a row on the heels of a three-game win streak. Jeremy Guthrie (0-3) took the loss after being touched for three runs on five hits in five innings of work.

These teams split a two-game series in Baltimore last week, but the Orioles have emerged victorious in five of their last eight meetings with the Sox. The Orioles drew even with Chicago in a four-game set at U.S. Cellular Field last July.
