Philadelphia Phillies (19-15) at Arizona Diamondbacks (22-11), 9:40 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Micah Owings will try to get back on track for Arizona tonight as the Diamondbacks play the third test of their four-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies at Chase Field.

Owings began the year with four wins in four starts along with a 2.42 earned run average over that span. However, two poor outings have since lifted his ERA to 4.42.

In a no decision against San Diego on April 26, the right-hander gave up five runs in five innings before he took a loss to the Mets on Friday. Versus New York, Owings was tagged for seven runs (6 earned) on 10 hits over 5 2/3 frames.

Owings, who is hitting .429 (9-for-21) with a homer and three RBI this year, is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in two career starts versus the Phillies. In his lone home start against Philadelphia last year, Owings held the Phils to a pair of runs over seven innings on May 8.

Kyle Kendrick goes for Philadelphia tonight and will start against Arizona for the first time in his career. Kendrick earned a no decision on Friday against the Giants, allowing three runs on eight hits over six innings while striking out a career-high tying six.

The right-hander, who is 2-2 with a 5.01 ERA in six starts this year, also didn't walk a batter for a second straight start. He has issued just three free passes in four games since walking six on April 9 against the New York Mets.

Arizona will try to be patient with Kendrick tonight, as they were with last night's starter for Philadelphia, Adam Eaton.

Eaton (0-1) allowed six runs on five hits in four innings, taking his first loss of the year after no decisions in his first six starts. He also walked Randy Johnson with the bases loaded in the fourth inning, accounting for the first of five runs the Diamondbacks went on to plate during that game-breaking frame. Chris Young knocked in a run with a force out after Johnson walked, then Stephen Drew blasted a two-out, three-run homer.

Conor Jackson also drove in a run, while Justin Upton and Mark Reynolds each scored once for the Diamondbacks, who avoided a season-high third straight loss.

Johnson (2-1) picked up the win after allowing four runs on five hits and striking out six over six innings.

Eric Bruntlett homered, doubled and knocked in three runs for the Phillies, who suffered just their fourth loss in their last 12 games. Jayson Werth was 2-for-4 with a solo homer, while Shane Victorino singled, walked and scored.

2006 National League MVP Ryan Howard didn't start versus Johnson last night, but did strike out in a pinch-hit appearance, dropping his average to .168. Pat Burrell went 1-for-4 last night and is hitless in five career at-bats against Owings.

Phils second baseman Chase Utley, though, is 3-for-6 with a homer against Owings and has a hit in six of his past eight games.

Arizona dominated Philadelphia last year, winning five of the six meetings.
