(Sports Network) - The New York Yankees will attempt to sweep the Seattle Mariners for the second time in three weeks, as the squads conclude a three- game series today at Yankee Stadium.

The Yankees swept a three-game set with the Mariners at home in early May and have won seven straight against Seattle at Yankee Stadium, including a 12-6 triumph on Saturday.

Bobby Abreu drove in four runs and Jason Giambi belted a three-run homer yesterday for New York, which has won a season-high four straight games.

Giambi finished 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and Robinson Cano continued his resurgence with four hits, including three doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Melky Cabrera drove in two runs and Hideki Matsui chipped in a pair of hits with an RBI and three runs scored in the victory.

Mike Mussina (7-4), pitching on three days' rest for the first time in four years, worked five innings and surrendered four runs on seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts. He also gave up a pair of homers after going five starts without allowing a long ball.

Carlos Silva (3-4) took the loss for Seattle, as he was tagged for seven runs -- five earned -- on 11 hits in six innings. He has lost two straight starts and is 0-4 in his last five outings.

Jose Vidro clubbed a three-run homer, Adrian Beltre added a solo shot and Richie Sexson contributed with a two-run blast for the Mariners, who have lost five in a row and have allowed 55 runs in that span.

Seattle will turn to Jarrod Washburn today and hope that he can give the team a much need quality start. The left-hander is pitching on three days' rest after being pounded in his last start by the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday. In that game, Washburn surrendered nine earned runs and 12 hits in just 2 1/3 innings of a 9-4 setback. He has now allowed 16 earned runs over his last two starts.

In 11 career starts against the Yankees, Washburn is an even 5-5 with a solid 2.52 ERA. He went 1-2 with a 2.33 ERA in three starts against New York a season ago.

Countering for the Yankees will be ace Chien-Ming Wang, who is a perfect 7-0 with a 2.39 ERA in seven lifetime starts against Seattle. On May 2nd, the right-hander limited the Mariners to just one earned run and three hits over six innings of a 5-1 triumph.

Wang, however, has been saddled with a loss in two of his last three starts and he is coming off a poor outing against the New York Mets a week ago. In that contest, he went 7 2/3 innings, but allowed seven earned runs over that span. Wang is pitching on an extra day of rest because of a mild calf strain.
