New York Yankees (25-25) at Baltimore Orioles (24-25), 1:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Yankees are sure glad to see the Orioles again.

New York seeks to extend its season-high winning streak in this afternoon's opener of a three-game set with Baltimore at Camden Yards.

The Yankees have won five straight, a run that began with an 8-0 victory over the Orioles on Wednesday. New York then took the finale of that set the following night before sweeping the Seattle Mariners in three games over the weekend.

Sunday's victory to finish off the sweep was an encouraging one for the Yanks, who responded from three runs down with a four-run eighth inning to claim a 6-5 victory.

Bobby Abreu began the comeback with an RBI double, and Hideki Matsui and Robinson Cano also drove in runs during the inning before Jose Molina put New York ahead for good with a run-scoring double.

Cano is hitting .474 (9-for-19) over his last five games with five doubles, seven RBI and five runs scored. The second baseman has upped his season average to .229 after hitting just .200 prior to New York's win streak.

Darrell Rasner will try to extend the winning run he started for the Yankees this afternoon. Few expected Rasner to be a factor in this year's rotation, but not only has he provided an unexpected spark, the right-hander was also involved in one of New York's best games of this season so far.

Rasner won his third straight outing on Wednesday, downing Baltimore behind a career-high seven shutout innings. He also struck out six batters -- a personal best -- while improving to 3-0 with a 1.89 earned run average this season.

Rasner's outing on Wednesday, an 8-0 New York win, was the Yankees' largest margin of victory at the time and he bested the Orioles for the first time in his career. In three starts against Baltimore, the lefty is 1-2 with a 6.59 ERA and will start in Camden Yards for the first time in his career.

The Orioles, meanwhile, haven't won since defeating the Yankees last Tuesday. Baltimore has lost a season-high five straight games for the second time this season after falling 5-4 to Tampa Bay on Sunday on the Rays' Evan Longoria's game-winning double in the ninth inning.

Baltimore's Jim Johnson struck out B.J. Upton to begin the bottom of the ninth but was lifted in favor of closer George Sherrill, who missed on a 3-2 slider to walk Carlos Pena. Longoria then lofted a line drive to the gap in right center, and the ball went all the way to the fence as Pena scored easily to end the game.

Sherrill (1-1) got the loss after Johnson had tossed 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief for the Orioles.

Brian Roberts finished 2-for-4 with a triple and Aubrey Huff homered for Baltimore. Ramon Hernandez, Adam Jones and Melvin Mora also drove in a run each.

Garrett Olson faced Rasner last week and gets a chance to avenge that setback today. Olson was 3-0 over his first four starts of the season before running into the Yanks. He took the loss after allowing six runs on eight hits over 2 2/3 innings in what was his first career start versus the Yankees.

Cano had hits in both at-bats with an RBI against Olson on Wednesday, while Johnny Damon drove in two runs off the lefty. Alex Rodriguez also homered in that win for New York.

The Yankees and Orioles have split six games so far this year, with Baltimore winning two of three at home in mid-April. The clubs also split 18 meetings a year ago.
