Los Angeles Dodgers (26-24) at Chicago Cubs (30-21), 7:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The NL Central-leading Chicago Cubs will continue their set with the Los Angeles Dodgers tonight from historic Wrigley Field.

Chicago is a half game ahead of St. Louis in the division standings, and put the brakes on a two-game losing streak with Monday's 3-1 win over the Dodgers in the opener of this series. Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez each homered to lead the way, as the Cubs opened their seven-game homestand in winning fashion.

Lee hit a two-run homer and Ramirez clubbed a solo shot for the Cubs, who have been victorious in just two of their last six contests. Starting pitcher Ryan Dempster took the win after scattering seven hits over seven innings and surrendering just one run. Dempster also walked three and struck out three. Kerry Wood later earned his 11th save of the campaign after he gave up just one hit in the ninth inning.

Taking the hill for the Cubs today will be Sean Gallagher, who is 1-1 with a 5.68 ERA in five games (three starts) this season. Gallagher, who replaced Jon Lieber in the rotation, suffered the loss in his previous outing on May 21 at Houston, when he gave up five runs and eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. He hurled six innings of one-run ball versus Pittsburgh before the recent setback.

The right-hander faced Los Angeles in a relief capacity on September 3, 2007 at Wrigley Field. Gallagher yielded three runs and five hits in two frames of an 11-3 drubbing for the no-decision.

Los Angeles has dropped three of its last four games, including yesterday's 3-1 defeat in the Windy City. Juan Pierre, Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp had two hits apiece, while Pierre drove in the lone run for the Dodgers.

Starting pitcher Chad Billingsley was saddled with the loss after he was touched for two runs on four hits in six innings of work. The righty also fanned seven batters and walked two in a losing effort. Los Angeles is 0-1 on a seven-game road trip against the Cubs and Mets.

LA rookie Hiroki Kuroda gets the ball on Tuesday and is 2-3 with a 3.48 earned run average through 10 starts this season. Kuroda was 0-3 in eight starts before winning his previous decision on May 21 versus Cincinnati, as he tossed eight stellar innings of two-run ball in a 5-2 victory. It was Kuroda's first win since his major league debut on April 4 at San Diego.

The right-hander will face the Cubs for the first time this evening.

Los Angeles went 5-2 against Chicago last season, with a 3-1 mark at Wrigley Field. The Cubs are 11-9 over the past 20 matchups in this series.
