Boston Red Sox (33-24) at Baltimore Orioles (26-27), 7:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles are 16-9 at home this season and they are set to play the second of four straight games against the Boston Red Sox tonight at Camden Yards.

Mike Lowell went 3-for-5 with two runs batted in, including the go-ahead RBI single in the 13th inning, to lead the Red Sox in a 5-2 victory over the error-prone Orioles last night in the opener of this series.

Jacoby Ellsbury was 3-for-7 with a pair of doubles for the Sox, who took advantage of three Baltimore errors in the 13th to record just their second win in seven games.

David Ortiz had a double, an RBI and scored a run for Boston. Manny Ramirez stayed put at 499 home runs, as he had a double and scored once.

Red Sox starter Josh Beckett went six innings and gave up two runs on four hits, while fanning 10 batters and walking three. Mike Timlin (3-3) got the win with a scoreless bottom of the 12th, while Jonathan Papelbon earned his 15th save of the year with a perfect 13th.

Aubrey Huff had a solo home run for Baltimore, which has dropped two in a row and seven of its last nine. Nick Markakis and Freddie Bynum each had two hits for the O's.

Orioles starter Daniel Cabrera went seven innings and gave up two runs on six hits. Chad Bradford (2-2) absorbed the loss after he allowed three runs, none of which were earned, on two hits while failing to record an out in the 13th.

The Orioles struck out a season-high 17 times and made a season-high four errors.

Prior to the game, the Red Sox placed pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka on the 15-day disabled list with a mild strain of his right rotator cuff. To replace Matsuzaka on the roster, the Red Sox purchased the contract of first baseman- outfielder Jeff Bailey from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Boston outfielder J.D. Drew sat out of Friday's game with vertigo.

Lefty Jon Lester will take the mound for Boston tonight in hopes of improving his 3-3 record and 3.55 ERA. Lester made national headlines when he pitched a no hitter two starts ago. In his last outing, Lester was tagged with a loss after surrendering seven hits and three earned runs in five innings of action against Oakland on Sunday.

Lester is a perfect 3-0 lifetime against Baltimore with a 3.00 ERA.

Set to oppose Lester is Garrett Olson, another lefthander who is 4-1 with a 4.09 ERA. He was outstanding on Monday, pitching seven shutout innings of three-hit ball en route to a win over the Yankees.

Olson is 3-0 at with a 2.41 ERA at home this season, but is 0-2 with a 7.63 ERA in three career games against Boston.

Baltimore swept a two-game home set over Boston in mid-May, but has still lost 17 of its last 24 at home versus the Red Sox.
