Cincinnati Reds (28-30) at Philadelphia Phillies (34-25), 7:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - On the cusp of a major milestone, Reds outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. is expected to be back in the lineup when Cincinnati resumes its four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies tonight at Citizens Bank Park.

Griffey is one home run shy of becoming the sixth player to reach the 600- homer club, which is currently occupied by Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays and Sammy Sosa. Griffey hit his 599th career homer over the weekend and rested in Monday's 5-4 loss in the series opener.

The sweet-swinging future Hall-of-Famer has played in 36 games (130 at-bats) against Philadelphia and owns just four home runs. Griffey has visited hitter- friendly Citizens Bank Park on 12 different occasions, going deep just twice in 54 plate appearances.

Edwin Encarnacion and rookie phenom Jay Bruce both homered in the loss for the Reds last night. Bronson Arroyo started for the Reds and absorbed the loss after giving up all five runs and 10 hits in 4 1/3 innings of work. The Reds will send struggling pitcher Aaron Harang to the mound on Tuesday, and he is just 2-7 with a 3.81 ERA in 13 games (12 starts) this season.

Harang is 0-2 with a 5.31 earned run average through his last four starts, having dropped a May 29 outing versus Pittsburgh. He lasted four innings and yielded six runs and 10 hits during a 7-2 setback.

The right-hander, who is 1-4 as the visitor this season, last faced the Phillies on April 5 this season. Harang did not factor in the 4-3 victory after hurling seven solid frames of two-run ball. In seven career appearances (six starts) against Philadelphia, Harang is 1-1 with a 6.43 ERA.

Phillies second baseman Chase Utley seems pretty comfortable at the plate as evidenced by his current home run streak. He will try to go deep for a franchise-record sixth straight game tonight.

Utley, who is hitting .320 with a major league-leading 21 home runs in addition to 52 RBI this season, has homered in five consecutive games twice this season to tie a team record shared by Bobby Abreu (May 8-12, 2005), Mike Schmidt (July 6-10, 1979) and Dick Allen (May 27-June 1, 1969). He went 3- for-4 with a two-run homer in Monday's 5-4 victory, matching his five-game homer streak from April 17-21 this season. Over his last eight games, the recent NL Player of the Week owns a .419 batting average with seven home runs and 19 RBI.

Pedro Feliz hit a two-run blast and Chris Coste added a solo shot in the win for the Phillies, who improved to 6-1 on a 10-game homestand and pulled 1 1/2 games ahead of Florida for the top spot in the NL East division. Kyle Kendrick earned the win even though he allowed four runs in 5 1/3 innings, while closer Brad Lidge struck out two batters and got a great diving catch by Utley to end the game for his 14th save of the season.

Philadelphia is 19-12 as the host this season. Starter Adam Eaton is coming off his first win of the 2008 season and will take the mound in South Philly tonight. He allowed one run and four hits in six innings of a 6-1 win over Colorado on May 28, lifting his 2008 mark to 1-3 with a 4.99 ERA in 11 starts.

The right-hander had lost his previous three decisions before handling the Rockies at Citizens Bank Park.

Eaton will face the Reds for the second time this season on Tuesday. On April 5 at Great American Ballpark, he was reached for three runs and six hits through 7 2/3 frames of a 4-3 setback for a no-decision. Eaton is 2-0 with a 4.19 earned run average in six career starts against the Reds.

Philadelphia leads the 2008 season series with Cincinnati by a 3-2 count, while the Phils are 15-9 against the Reds since the start of the 2005 campaign.
