Chicago Cubs (43-24) at Toronto Blue Jays (34-34), 7:07 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Young right-hander Sean Gallagher again seeks his first career road win when the Chicago Cubs visit Rogers Centre for the opening game of a three-game weekend interleague series with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Gallagher, who turned 22 in December, is 0-2 with a 5.93 earned run average in four road outings in 2008, following up on a 2007 season in which he made his major-league debut by appearing in eight games and tossing 14 2/3 innings.

The former 12th-round draft pick, who has never faced the Jays, was beaten by the Dodgers in his most recent start, giving up three hits and two runs in five innings of a 3-0 loss on June 6.

Meanwhile, right-hander A.J. Burnett tries to stay perfect against the Cubs.

Twice a double-digit winner in the National League with the Florida Marlins, Burnett is 2-0 in three career starts against the Cubs, posting a 4.35 earned run average in 20 2/3 innings.

He's 0-2 with a no-decision in his last three starts overall, including a 9-5 loss to Baltimore on June 7 that saw him surrender 10 hits and eight runs in 4 1/3 innings.

Burnett's last win came May 22 against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, against whom he was touched for six hits and three runs in six innings of a 4-3 triumph.

On Thursday in Chicago, Jim Edmonds tied the game with a solo homer in the ninth inning and pinch-hitter Reed Johnson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the 11th as the Cubs beat Atlanta, 3-2, to complete a three-game sweep.

Carlos Zambrano went seven-plus innings allowing two runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out three for the Cubs. Kerry Wood (3-1) struck out four in two innings allowing a hit and a walk for the Cubs, who have won four straight games and 11 in a row at Wrigley Field.

Edmonds had two RBI for the Cubs, who took advantage of an Atlanta offense that left 14 men on base.

On Wednesday in Toronto, Felix Hernandez tossed eight brilliant innings, and Raul Ibanez drove in the winning run with a single in the top of the ninth as the Seattle Mariners edged the Blue Jays, 2-1, in the rubber match of their three-game series at Rogers Centre.

Joe Inglett doubled twice and scored for the Jays, who have dropped six of their last eight games. B.J. Ryan (1-3) allowed the go-ahead run in the ninth to take the loss in relief of Shaun Marcum, who held the M's to a run on seven hits over seven brilliant frames, striking out nine and walking two.

Toronto has won four of its six matchups with the Cubs since 2003.
