Atlanta Braves (39-41) at Toronto Blue Jays (38-42), 7:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves will head up north to Toronto for the first time in seven years tonight, when they visit the Blue Jays for three interleague games at Rogers Centre.

The Braves haven't visited Canada's largest city since losing two of three games there from June 11-13 of the 2001 campaign. They are 6-12 all-time in regular-season play against the Blue Jays and were swept in three games versus Toronto at Turner Field in June of 2006.

Toronto also defeated Atlanta in six games during the 1992 World Series, the first ever played outside of the United States. The '92 Series also pitted both current managers in Toronto's Cito Gaston and Atlanta legend Bobby Cox. Gaston was just brought back to the helm following the firing of John Gibbons last Friday. The Jays are 3-3 so far under their new skipper.

Atlanta avoided a sweep by the Milwaukee Brewers with Wednesday's 4-2 victory in the finale of a three-game series in Dixie. Jorge Campillo pitched seven innings of two-run ball and added two hits with a pair of runs scored at the plate to lead the way.

Campillo allowed four hits with six strikeouts before Mike Gonzalez allowed one hit in a scoreless ninth to pick up his second save. Kelly Johnson finished 2-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in for Atlanta, which had managed only four runs in losing the first two games of the series.

Atlanta will rest its hopes on Jair Jurrjens tonight, and he is 7-3 with a 3.20 earned run average through 15 starts this season. Jurrjens is 3-0 over his last seven starts, with the Braves going 6-1 over that span. He last toed the rubber on Saturday versus Seattle, allowing three unearned runs in six innings for a no-decision of a 5-4 Braves win.

The righty is just 2-3 with a 3.98 ERA in seven away starts this season. He has never faced the Blue Jays in his career.

Toronto has won three of its last four contests after a seven-game slide, including Thursday's 7-1 triumph over Edinson Volquez and the Cincinnati Reds in the last installment of a three-game set at home.

Jesse Litsch pitched eight strong innings, surrendering just one run on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts for the Blue Jays, who sport a 20-18 mark at the Rogers Centre in 2008. Scott Rolen hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs, while Vernon Wells had a pair of RBI and scored twice.

Heading to the Rogers Centre mound for the Jays on Friday will be Dustin McGowan, who has won four of his last five decisions. McGowan last pitched on Sunday at Pittsburgh and recorded the win even though he was reached for four runs -- three earned -- and nine hits in five frames.

The right-hander, who is 4-1 with an outstanding 1.73 ERA in six home outings this season, will make his first-ever appearance against Atlanta.

Toronto is 6-9 against the National League this season and 99-109 all-time in interleague play. The Braves are 7-5 versus the Junior Circuit in 2008 and 102-91 against the AL since interleague play began in 1997.
