Atlanta Braves (40-41) at Toronto Blue Jays (38-43), 1:07 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Atlanta Braves will try to remain in the win column when they battle the Toronto Blue Jays in the second test of a three-game interleague set at Rogers Centre.

The Braves send their ace Tim Hudson to the hill this afternoon, as the veteran right-hander tries to continue his winning ways. After going winless in his previous five starts, Hudson baffled the Seattle Mariners this past Sunday. In the 8-3 victory, the 32-year-old tossed seven scoreless innings, scattering four hits, while striking out two batters.

Hudson has not been at his best away from home, going just 2-4 with a 3.74 ERA in nine road starts. In 53 innings of duty on the road, Hudson has allowed 52 hits, but has held the opposition to just 24 runs and only four home runs.

As for the Blue Jays they will turn to John Parrish, who was called up to take the place of Shawn Marcum in the rotation. Marcum was recently placed on the disabled list with an elbow injury.

Parrish has been outstanding in Triple-A this season, recording a remarkable 10-1 ledger with a strong 2.74 ERA. Last year Parrish was strictly used out of the bullpen for the Blue Jays, but did not perform at a high level. In 53 appearances, the southpaw went 2-2 with a lackluster 5.71 ERA.

Yesterday, Jair Jurrjens was brilliant over eight shutout innings, while Mark Teixeira provided the power with three runs batted in as the Braves topped Toronto, 4-0.

Jurrjens (8-3) allowed just three hits while striking out three and walking one while posting a career-high in innings pitched for the Braves, who won their second straight game. The right-hander has been victorious in his last four decisions, a span of eight outings.

Teixeira went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double, while Gregor Blanco went 2-for-4, knocked in a run and scored once.

Dustin McGowan (6-6) was touched for all four runs on eight hits in 7 1/3 innings for the Jays, who have lost nine of 12 overall. Matt Stairs, Scott Rolen and Alex Rios had Toronto's only hits.

Toronto is 6-10 against the National League this season and 99-110 all-time in interleague play. The Braves are 8-5 versus the Junior Circuit in 2008 and 103-91 against the AL since interleague play began in 1997.
