Atlanta Braves (40-42) at Toronto Blue Jays (39-43), 1:07 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Two teams struggling to reach the .500 plateau will collide at the Rogers Centre this afternoon, as the Toronto Blue Jays conclude their three-game series with the Atlanta Braves.

The inconsistent A. J. Burnett will toe the rubber today trying to find his old form. Burnett has had a tough time for much of the year and is currently just 7-7 with a terrible 5.07 ERA.

However, the hard throwing right-hander was able break into the win column this past Tuesday. In the 14-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds, Burnett tossed eight strong innings, allowing just one run on four hits, while striking out seven batters.

In seven home starts this season Burnett is 4-3, but the 31-year-old has not pitched particularly well, posting a terrible 6.75 ERA.

Burnett, who started his career in the National League, is no stranger to the Braves, but in 16 career starts, he is just 4-9 with a 4.07 ERA.

The Braves will rely on Jo-Jo Reyes this afternoon, as the southpaw will try to notch just his fourth win on the year.

The young hurler has struggled for the most part on the season, recording just one victory over his last seven starts. The last time the 23-year-old hurler was on the hill he did not make it out of the third innings, as the Brewers battered him for four runs on six hits and two walks.

Reyes has had some success away from home and although he has just a 1-2 ledger in four starts, he also possesses a solid 2.83 ERA.

On Saturday, Joe Inglett hit a clutch two-run, two-out single as part of a four-run sixth and the Blue Jays hung on to beat the Braves, 9-5.

John Parrish (1-0) made his Blue Jays debut, having pitched parts of six seasons with the Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners, compiling a 12-12 career record with a 4.63 earned run average in 10 starts. In his first appearance of the year and his first start since 2004, he finished the day having thrown six excellent innings, allowing only one run on four hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Rod Barajas added a home run, a double and three runs scored while Scott Rolen and Matt Stairs each contributed with two hits and a run scored to help Toronto win for the fourth time in six games.

Tim Hudson (8-6) pitched well until the sixth inning, when he gave up four runs and did not record an out. He finished the day having pitched five-plus innings, giving up six runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and three walks.

Blanco batted 4-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored and Johnson added two hits for the Braves, who have lost for the third time in five games.

Toronto is 7-10 against the National League this season and 100-110 all-time in interleague play. The Braves are 8-6 versus the Junior Circuit in 2008 and 103-92 against the AL since interleague play began in 1997.
