(Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers will try to complete a sweep over the Colorado Rockies as the two teams close out a three-game interleague series at Comerica Park.

The red-hot Tigers turn to their crafty lefty Kenny Rogers, who will try to push the team's winning streak to five games. Rogers dropped to 5-5 the last time he toed the rubber, as the veteran was hammered by St. Louis.

In the 8-4 setback to the Cardinals, the 43-year-old allowed five runs on nine hits and three walks in just 5 1/3 innings of work. However, it was just the first loss for Rogers since May 15th when he was defeated by the Royals.

Rogers has made five career starts against the Rockies and has been rather successful in those outings, posting a 3-0 mark with an impressive 2.78 ERA.

Opposing Rogers will be Greg Reynolds, who was not even five years old when the veteran southpaw came up with the Rangers. Reynolds has struggled in his first stint in the big leagues, posting a mere 2-5 record.

The last time Reynolds was on the hill, the right-hander suffered a 3-1 loss to New York. In the setback, the 22-year-old allowed three runs on six hits in seven innings of duty.

Reynolds has been atrocious away from home this season, losing all three road starts, while posting an equally terrible 7.71 ERA. In 16 1/3 innings he has surrendered 16 runs on 18 hits and 13 walks.

Yesterday, After giving up four runs in the top of the ninth, the Tigers scored two on Miguel Cabrera's one-out double in the bottom half to defeat the Rockies, 7-6.

Edgar Renteria finished 3-for-5 and scored a run for the Tigers, who own a 16-4 mark over their last 20 contests. Placido Polanco was 2-for-5 and scored twice. Magglio Ordonez singled in his only plate appearance before leaving in the third due to right oblique spasms. He was replaced by Ryan Raburn, who clubbed his first career grand slam and scored the winning run.

Detroit starter Justin Verlander went 5 2/3 innings and allowed two runs on five hits with six strikeouts and four walks. Todd Jones blew his first save of the season after he gave up four runs in only two-thirds of an inning. The rally made a winner out of Freddy Dolsi (1-2), who recorded the final out in the top of the ninth.

Willy Taveras was 3-for-6 and knocked in two runs for the Rockies, who have dropped six in a row. Chris Iannetta had three hits, including a double that drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth. Matt Holliday finished 2- for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Ryan Spilborghs scored two runs and knocked in another.

Jeff Francis gave up five runs -- four earned -- on 11 hits over six innings for Colorado. Brian Fuentes (1-3) surrendered two runs in the bottom of the ninth to take the loss. It was his fourth blown save of the season.
