Florida Marlins (46-44) at San Diego Padres (36-55), 3:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Florida Marlins seem to be losing focus for NL East supremacy and will try gain some ground in the division standings when they close out a three-game series against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

The Marlins had a two-game winning streak stopped with Tuesday's 10-1 setback in the second test of this series in San Diego. Florida starter Andrew Miller had his winless streak extended to four starts, getting roughed up for four runs on six hits while striking out five and walking four in his five-inning stint for Florida, which has lost four of six but remains just 1 1/2 games behind the slumping Phillies in the NL East.

Jeremy Hermida provided the Florida offense with a solo homer in the first inning, but the Padres responded with 10 unanswered runs. The Marlins are 2-4 so far on an 11-game road trip and 20-24 away from South Beach this season.

Scott Olsen gets the nod for the Marlins on Wednesday and is still in search of his first win since May 6 versus Milwaukee. Olsen, who is 4-4 with a 3.96 earned run average in 18 starts this season, is 0-3 over the past 11 starts with three consecutive no-decisions.

In his last start on July 4 at Colorado, Olsen was reached for nine runs -- eight earned -- on 11 hits, including three home runs, in five innings of his team's 18-17 setback.

The left-hander is 1-1 with a 2.79 ERA in three career starts against the Padres.

San Diego ended a two-game slide last night and won for the third time in five tries thanks to Chase Headley. Headley finished with three hits and four RBI for the Padres, who put the brakes on a nine-game slide at Petco Park. Scott Hairston belted a three-run homer and Brian Myrow added a pinch-hit solo home run in the win.

Starter Randy Wold was solid through seven innings, allowing just one run and five hits with seven strikeouts and one walk. San Diego is now 1-1 on a six- game homestand and 22-27 as the host this season.

Toeing the rubber for the Friars tonight will be Cha Seung Baek, who is 2-4 with a 4.54 earned run average in seven games (six starts) this season.

Baek was 0-3 in five starts before defeating Arizona at Chase Field last Friday. He hurled six shutout innings of two-hit ball to back a 5-1 triumph by the Padres.

The righty, who is 0-4 in eight games (five starts) at home in 2008, has never faced the Marlins in his career.

The Marlins won two of three clashes with San Diego in Miami back in May. Florida split a four-game set against the Padres in the team's only visit to San Diego last season.
