Minnesota Twins (50-40) at Boston Red Sox (54-39), 1:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox try and improve on their major league- best home mark this afternoon when they wrap up a three-game set with the Minnesota Twins at Fenway Park.

The Red Sox rallied for a thrilling 6-5 win on Tuesday, as Brandon Moss drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and finished with two RBI.

Manny Ramirez, who drove in the lone run in Monday's win, hit a game-tying two-run homer in the eighth for the Red Sox, who have taken the first two games in the series and four of six overall.

Dustin Pedroia also extended his career-best hitting streak to 16 games with a sixth-inning single.

Boston, which is 33-10 in Beantown, crept within three games of first-place Tampa in the AL East, after the Rays fell to the Yankees 5-0.

David Aardsma (3-2) picked up the win by pitching two-thirds of an inning of scoreless relief. Jonathan Papelbon worked out of a jam in the ninth to record his 27th save. Starter Jon Lester went 7 1/3 innings, but yielded nine hits and five runs.

Brendan Harris finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and a pair of runs scored for the Twins, who have lost two in a row after a five-game win streak. Delmon Young, Nick Punto and Denard Span drove in a run each.

Matt Guerrier (4-4) took the loss, allowing four hits and three runs in one frame. That spoiled a solid outing by starter Nick Blackburn, who gave up six hits and two runs over 6 2/3 innings.

Getting the call for the Red Sox today will be ace right-hander Josh Beckett, who has won three of his last four decisions. Beckett defeated the New York Yankees in his last trip to the hill on Friday, surrendering three runs -- all in the first inning -- and four hits over six innings to run his record to 8-5 to go along with a 3.70 earned run average.

Beckett is 1-1 in two starts against the Twins with a 3.21 ERA.

Minnesota will pin its hopes on veteran righty Livan Hernandez, who is 9-5 with a 5.18 ERA. Hernandez won for the third time in his last four starts on Friday against Cleveland, as he gave up three runs and five hits in six innings.

Hernandez beat the Red Sox the last time he faced them and is 1-2 lifetime against them with a 9.00 ERA in three starts.

The Twins took three of four from the Red Sox earlier in the season after Boston won four of seven in the season series a year ago.
