Arizona Diamondbacks (47-47) at Philadelphia Phillies (51-44), 1:35 p.m.

(Sports Network) - Right-hander Brandon Webb tries for his major league- leading 14th win of the season this afternoon, when the Arizona Diamondbacks play the rubber match of their three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

Webb, who was selected to his third All-Star Game last week, improved to 13-4 on Tuesday against the Washington Nationals, as he scattered six hits over seven scoreless frames to lower his earned run average to 3.27.

The sinker-ball specialist defeated Philadelphia earlier in the year and is 3-3 lifetime against the Phillies with a 3.68 ERA in nine starts.

Philadelphia will counter with lefty Cole Hamels, who is 9-6 with a 3.18 ERA. Hamels, who many felt should have been chosen for the All-Star Game, was defeated by the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, when he allowed two runs and three hits in seven innings of a 2-0 loss. He also fanned eight without walking a batter in the setback.

Hamels defeated the D'Backs the only other time he faced them, allowing a run and three hits in 5 2/3 frames back on June 6, 2006.

In the second game of this set on Saturday, Chad Tracy went 3-for-5 and drove in three runs as Arizona scored eight times in the fourth inning to pound the Phillies, 10-4.

Mark Reynolds hit a three-run homer for Arizona, which has split its last 10 games and continues to hover around the .500 mark. Saturday's win pushed the NL West-leading Diamondbacks to 47-47.

Randy Johnson (6-7) gave up five hits and four runs in six innings, and added a two-run double as he picked up the win for Arizona.

Adam Eaton (3-8) continued to struggle for Philadelphia and put up another awful outing that may have put his spot in the starting rotation in jeopardy. Eaton was ripped for eight runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings, spoiling Shane Victorino's two-homer day for the Phillies, who saw their three-game win streak come to an end.

Coupled with the surging Mets' eighth straight win, the Phillies saw their lead over New York and Florida in the NL East shrink to just a half-game.

Arizona has split its six games with the Phillies this season after winning five of the six matchups between the teams a year ago.
