Chicago Cubs (63-44) at Milwaukee Brewers (60-47), 8:05 p.m.

(Sports Network) - So far, the Chicago Cubs have beaten the best the Milwaukee Brewers have to offer. After posting wins over Milwaukee's two co-aces, Chicago will aim to defeat one of the Brewers' top young guns tonight in the third test of a four-game series between the two clubs at Miller Park.

Heading into this key National League Central series, the front-running Cubs held just a one-game edge over the Brewers and were staring at matchups with CC Sabathia and Ben Sheets. However, Chicago scored four runs off Sabathia in winning Monday's opener and then tagged Sheets for six runs on 11 hits in 5 1/3 innings of last night's 7-1 victory.

Aramis Ramirez went 4-for-5, scored twice, and drove in a run for the Cubs, who have won three straight and five of seven. Kosuke Fukudome and Mark DeRosa each knocked in two runs.

The Cubs sent out ace Carlos Zambrano last night, and he hurled eight shutout innings to improve to 12-4 this year. Tonight, they start Ryan Dempster, who is 11-4 with a 2.99 earned run average this year.

Dempster, though, has done most of his damage at home, as he is 10-1 with a 2.72 ERA in 13 starts at Wrigley Field this year. In nine road starts, he is 1-3 with a 3.42 ERA.

The 31-year-old former closer got a no-decision in his last start Friday versus the Marlins, allowing just a run on two hits while also walking six in a 3-2 setback.

He has already defeated the Brewers twice this year at home and is 6-2 with 10 saves and a 2.53 ERA in 32 games (10 starts) lifetime versus Milwaukee. He has a 2.03 ERA in 12 relief outings and four starts at Miller Park.

Manny Parra counters for Milwaukee. The 25-year-old had won eight straight decisions before taking a loss on Friday to Houston, his first since May 3. Parra allowed three runs on eight hits over six frames while fanning five in a 3-1 setback.

The left-hander fell to 9-3 with a 3.72 ERA in 21 games this year, all but one of those starts, and has faced the Cubs just once before in his career. That came on August 30, 2007 in his final start of that season, and he lasted only three innings while allowing three runs in a no-decision.

Parra is 5-1 with a 3.15 ERA in 12 home games (11 starts) this season.

Mike Cameron knocked in the only run last night for the Brewers, who have dropped three straight and four of five. In addition to falling three games back of the Cubs in the NL Central, Milwaukee is now in front of third-place St. Louis by just one game.

The Cubs and Brewers have now split eight meetings so far in 2008, with the six previous meetings all taking place in the Windy City. Chicago won four of six in Milwaukee last season.
