Randy Ruiz hit a two-run blast in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game and send it to an extra frame, and finished the day 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Carlos Gomez added a run scored and an RBI, going 1-for-2 on the day.

Mariano Gomez picked up the win, throwing two scoreless innings for the Twins, while Glen Perkins allowed one earned run on two hits in the start.

Adam Dunn was 2-for-2, driving in a pair of runs, while Andy Green hit a three-run homer for the Reds.

Jeremy Affeldt allowed one run on just one hit in his three-inning start, but Ramon Ramirez and Marcus McBeth were touched for two runs apiece in the final two frames to account for the loss.
