Steve Pearce knocked in a pair of runs to up his spring training total to eight, while Neil Walker added two doubles, two RBI and scored twice. John Van Benschoten lasted three innings in his start, allowing four runs on five hits while walking three.

Brandon Phillips belted a three-run homer off Van Benschoten and finished the afternoon 2-for-2 with five RBI. Richie Gardner was roughed up in relief of Johnny Cueto, allowing seven runs on five hits in one-third of an inning.
