Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - Albert Pujols went 2-for-3 with a run batted in as the St. Louis Cardinals edged the New York Mets, 6-5, in a 10 inning Grapefruit League contest.

Skip Schumaker went 2-for-5 with a walk and a pair of runs scored for the Cardinals, who pounded out 15 hits off Mets pitching. Braden Looper had a rocky four inning start, allowing four runs on seven hits, but the St. Louis bullpen bailed him out by allowing just one run over the final six innings.

Endy Chavez went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored, while Jose Reyes went 2-for-3 and scored twice for New York. Mike Pelfrey allowed two runs -- one earned -- on six hits over 4 2/3 innings, but Joselo Diaz gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 10th and took the loss.
