Dunedin, FL (Sports Network) - Matt Stairs notched a two-run double, as the Toronto Blue Jays downed the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-1, in Grapefruit League action.
Chip Cannon belted a solo home run for Toronto, which got five scoreless innings out of starting pitcher Roy Halladay. Halladay yielded only four hits and struck out four. Lyle Overbay finished 2-for-3 with a double in the win.
Ian Snell surrendered two runs on five hits in four innings to absorb the loss for Pittsburgh. Steve Pearce broke the shutout with a solo blast in the top of the eighth inning.
