Posada finished 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI for the Yankees, while Bobby Abreu was 2-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs.

Phil Hughes was touched for seven runs -- six earned -- on seven hits in just four innings but picked up a no-decision. Kei Igawa won it with a scoreless seventh inning.

Nate McLouth, Ryan Doumit and Chris Gomez each homered for the Pirates. Byung-Hyun Kim allowed four runs in the eighth en route to the loss.
