Matt Murton hit two doubles and scored twice for the Cubs, who pounded out 12 hits. Rich Hill started but was pulled after 1 1/3 erratic innings in which he walked six, giving up three runs -- two earned -- on one hit with one strikeout.

Ian Stewart went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and scored for the Rockies. Franklin Morales started and pitched five innings, letting up seven hits and six runs -- five earned -- with three strikeouts and two walks for Colorado.
