Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Lastings Milledge went 2-for-4 with a two- run homer and three runs scored as the Washington Nationals spoiled Philadelphia's home opener with an 11-6 victory over the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

Austin Kearns finished 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored while Cristian Guzman added two hits and two runs scored for the Nationals, who opened their season and their new stadium with a ninth-inning win over Atlanta on Sunday.

Matt Chico got the start and gave up three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. Saul Rivera (1-0) got the win for pitching a perfect eighth inning.

Chase Utley went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, two RBI and two runs scored while Jimmy Rollins, last season's NL MVP, added a two-run homer and two runs scored for the Phillies, who were last season's NL East champions.

Brett Myers, back in the starting rotation after spending the majority of last season in the bullpen, was charged with four runs -- three earned -- on five hits with a pair of walks and two strikeouts in five innings of work. Tom Gordon (0-1) got the loss for giving up five runs on four hits with a walk while recording just one out in the ninth inning.

With the score tied to start the ninth, Washington grabbed the lead with five runs in the frame. Gordon started on the mound and gave up an infield single to Milledge. After Ryan Zimmerman flied out, Nick Johnson punched a double to center to plate Milledge and took third on the throw home. Kearns then worked a walk before catcher Carlos Ruiz threw the ball into left field attempting to pick off Johnson, who came home on the error. Back-to-back run-scoring doubles from Paul Lo Duca and Ronnie Belliard then chased Gordon from the game.

Clay Condrey stepped to the mound and got Willie Harris to pop out, but Dmitri Young followed with a pinch-hit double to plate Belliard for an 11-6 lead.

Jesus Colome retired Philadelphia in order in the ninth to finish the game.

The Phillies wasted no time taking a 1-0 lead as they worked a runner across the plate in the first inning. Rollins led off the season with a double down the left field line and moved to third on Shane Victorino's sacrifice bunt. Utley then brought home Rollins with a sac fly to deep center.

Philadelphia plated another run in the fourth for a 2-0 lead. Utley led off the frame with a single and hustled to third as Ryan Howard followed with a single to left-center. Pat Burrell then brought Utley home with a line drive single to left.

The Nationals, though, jumped ahead in the fifth with four runs. Chico punched a one-out single to center, Guzman followed with a single and Milledge was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Zimmerman plated Chico with a sac fly to right and Johnson worked a walk to again load the bags. Kearns then hit a one-hop double off the right-center wall to chase home two runners. Lo Duca followed with a grounder to short, but Rollins misplayed the ball and Johnson scored for a 4-2 lead.

Washington increased its lead to 6-2 in the sixth as Guzman hit a one-out single and Milledge followed with a line drive home run over the left field wall.

Utley got one back for the Phils in the bottom of the sixth as he roped a 2-2 pitch into the right field stands to make it a 6-3 game.

The Phillies tied the game in the bottom of the seventh. Jayson Werth worked a leadoff walk and Ruiz brought him home with a double off the left-center wall. After Geoff Jenkins struck out swinging, Rollins belted a pitch into the left- center seats to make it a 6-6 contest.
