Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Frank Thomas belted a grand slam, and Roy Halladay outdueled Josh Beckett as Toronto finished a three-game sweep of Boston by downing the Red Sox, 7-4.

Halladay (1-1) allowed four runs on eight hits in eight innings for the Blue Jays, who have won four of five games overall.

Vernon Wells added a two-run homer for Toronto, while Aaron Hill finished 2- for-4 with an RBI double.

Jacoby Ellsbury, Jason Varitek and J.D. Drew all homered for the defending World Series champion Red Sox, who are just 3-4 on the young season.

Beckett (0-1) was activated off the 15-day disabled list before the game and allowed five runs on just three hits in 4 2/3 innings. The big leagues' only 20-game winner last season, Beckett, who was on the shelf a lower back strain, walked four and fanned six in the game.

"I felt good health wise, Beckett said. "Obviously not the results you want but I felt fine."

With the game knotted, Toronto took control in the fifth when Beckett lost his command. After giving up a two-out single to Hill, the flame-thrower issued consecutive walks to Alex Rios and Wells to load the bases. BoSox manager Terry Francona made a huge mistake by lifting Beckett for Manny Delcarmen and Thomas greeted the reliever by belting a first pitch fastball over the wall in center for his 11th career grand slam to make it a 6-2 game.

The Jays added an insurance run in the sixth. Marco Scutaro reached on a Julio Lugo throwing error, advanced into scoring position when Shannon Stewart drew a two-out walk and came around to score on Hill's double.

Boston got one back in the seventh when Drew opened the frame by depositing his second homer of the year over the wall in right-center.

The Red Sox continued to chip away in the eighth when Kevin Youkilis got on with a one-out triple and David Ortiz followed with an RBI single to make it 7-4.

Jeremy Accardo came on and closed things out with a scoreless ninth to earn his third save of the season.

"I felt good," Halladay said. "Obviously solo home runs are never fun but this is a team you try and be aggressive against and stay ahead in the count. I felt we did that."

The Red Sox jumped on top when Ellsbury led off the third by turning on a tailing Halladay fastball and drilling it over the wall in right for his first homer of the year.

The Blue Jays finally broke through off Beckett in the fourth. Rios walked before Wells belted a hanging curve over the fence in left-center to make it a 2-1 game.

Boston deadlocked things in the fifth after Varitek crushed a leadoff homer to dead center.
