National League Game Summary - San Francisco at Pittsburgh

Final Score: San Francisco 6 - Pittsburgh 12

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - Nate McLouth went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and three RBI while Zach Duke picked up his first win of the season in Pittsburgh's 12-6 victory over the San Francisco Giants in the opener of a three-game series at PNC Park

Duke scattered eight hits and three walks in 7 1/3 innings, allowing three runs while fanning three in his first victory since June 12, 2007.

The Pirates belted 14 hits, as Freddy Sanchez was 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI, while Adam LaRoche belted a two-run homer in the blowout. Xavier Nady also added a pair of RBI for Pittsburgh, which halted a two-game skid.

San Francisco starter Jonathan Sanchez (2-2) allowed seven runs on six hits with three walks in 4 1/3 innings for the loss, which snapped the left- hander's five-game unbeaten streak.

"I got hit," Sanchez said. "I couldn't make the adjustments [to the mound at PNC Park]. I was getting the ball up. They hit the ball well. You have bad days. I got to come back tomorrow and forget about it."

Jose Castillo hit a three-run homer for the Giants, who have dropped two straight, while Rich Aurilia was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in the loss.

After two scoreless innings, the Pirates scored three runs in the home third. Sanchez poked a blooper just over the glove of a drawn-in Emmanuel Burriss at short, scoring Chris Gomez from third.

McLouth followed by producing a pair more. The red-hot center fielder went upstairs and connected on the first pitch he saw, sending it to the first row of seats in right field for a 3-0 Pittsburgh advantage.

LaRouche would follow an inning later with another two-run blast to right, and the rout was on when the Giants' pitching staff became unhinged in the fifth.

Sanchez was lifted after issuing two walks, and Brad Hennessey was greeted with consecutive run-scoring doubles by Ryan Doumit and Nady, the latter of which plating two for an eight-run lead.

McClouth completely crushed a solo shot in the sixth, as the ball just missed leaving the ball park after traveling an estimated 421 feet for his ninth homer of the season. McCloth also hit two home runs against Philadelphia in the Pirates' previous home game, April 27.

"It comes eight or nine days apart," McClouth said when asked about his consecutive multi-home run home games. "It's not like it was two games in a row. We got out to that big lead and we won both of those games."

The Giants got on the board in the seventh when Aurilia doubled and scored on Daniel Ortmeier's two-bagger to center.

In the bottom of the seventh, Jose Bautista lined a drive into the left field gap that rolled long enough for LaRoche to score all the way from first, and the Pirates piled on two more runs in the frame for an insurmountable 11-run lead.

Reliever Sean Burnett relieved Duke after the starter put a pair on with one out in the eighth. Burnett surrendered Castillo's three-run blast after an Aurilia RBI single, and John Bowker added another run for the away team with an RBI double in the ninth.
