Final Score: Chicago WSox 2 - Los Angeles 0
Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - John Danks combined with four other pitchers in a five-hit shutout as the Chicago White Sox downed the Los Angeles Dodgers, 2-0, in the finale of a three-game interleague set at Dodger Stadium.
Danks (5-4) gave up four hits and four walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work for the White Sox, who had dropped four of five coming into the game.
"I didn't have the command like I wanted to," said Danks. "But I had good defense behind me. The pitch count bit me today, but the guys were awesome in the bullpen."
Alexei Ramirez had a pair of hits and drove in a run while Carlos Quentin had the other RBI for Chicago, which won on the road for just the second time in its past 12 games.
"Offensively, we think we have it where we want it," said Dodgers manager Joe Torre. "But, we didn't produce today. Kershaw pitched well, we just didn't manufacture runs."
Clayton Kershaw (0-2) was tagged with the loss as he gave up two runs on six hits with four walks and three strikeouts in four-plus innings of work for the Dodgers, who have lost four of their last six games. Matt Kemp went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks in the loss.
The White Sox grabbed the lead in the second inning. Jermaine Dye led off with a walk and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt from Nick Swisher. After Joe Crede grounded out, Ramirez punched a single to left that brought home Dye.
Chicago took a 2-0 lead in the third as Orlando Cabrera led off with a walk, moved to second on a wild pitch and came home on Quentin's single.
The Dodgers threatened in the third as they had runners on first and third with none out, but Russell Martin struck out and James Loney then hit into a double play.
In the fourth Los Angeles again got its leadoff batter on base as Andy LaRoche started the frame with a double, but the next three batters recorded outs.
Delwyn Young made it to second base for Los Angeles in the sixth thanks to a walk and a wild pitch, but it was with two outs and Angel Berroa struck out to end the inning.
Matt Thornton and Octavio Dotel worked the seventh for Chicago, while Scott Linebrink retired the Dodgers in order in the eighth.
Bobby Jenks then worked a 1-2-3 ninth to pick up his 17th save of the season.
