Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Miguel Olivo's pinch-hit homer off George Sherrill with two outs in the ninth forced extra innings and Jose Guillen singled in Mike Aviles in the 11th, as the Kansas City Royals came back from four runs down in a 6-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.

Kansas City snapped a two-game losing streak, but has a six-game road winning streak, its longest since 1999, and snapped an eight-game losing streak in Baltimore. The Royals won for just the third time in their last 19 games against the Orioles.

Ron Mahay (4-0) pitched a scoreless ninth and tenth for the victory while Joakim Soria picked up his 22nd save in the opener of the four-game series.

"It was good to see us that resilient, especially in the first game of a long road trip," Royals manager Trey Hillman said. "We kept scrapping and battling and it was good to see us come back."

Zack Greinke yielded five runs on seven hits and a walk in five innings while fanning five in the start for the Royals.

Brian Burres went five-plus innings, allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out three for Baltimore, which has lost two in a row.

Chad Bradford (3-3) took the loss after giving up a run on three hits in the 10th and 11th.

Alex Cintron was 2-for-3 with an RBI double and Ramon Hernandez had a solo home run for the O's.

With two outs and two strikes in an 0-2 count in the top of the ninth, Olivo hit his ninth homer of the year, over the wall in left to tie the game. It was Sherrill's second consecutive blown save, one night after allowing a game- ending two-run homer in the bottom of the 12th against the Washington Nationals.

"I didn't worry yesterday, I didn't worry today," Orioles manager Dave Trembley said of Sherrill. "(Burres) pitched better than I expected...I thought he was very effective...I didn't expect to get as many pitches out of him as we did."

The Royals got their first lead since the first inning with a run in the 11th. Aviles reached on an infield single and moved to second on a Mark Grudzielanek sacrifice bunt before Bradford intentionally walked Alex Gordon. Guillen followed with a single down the right field line to score Aviles.

Soria fanned two batters in the bottom half, ending the game by fanning Adam Jones.

The Royals broke on top in the third. Joey Gathright drew a one-out walk, advanced to third base on a throwing error while stealing second before scoring on a Gordon two-out double to give the Royals a 1-0 lead.

Hernandez tied the game in the bottom of the inning with a lead-off homer, his sixth.

The Orioles assaulted Greinke with a four-run fifth to seemingly take control of the game. Jones rocked a one-out pitch to the wall in right for a triple and was followed by a Cintron ground-rule double that scored Jones. Cintron came home two batters later on a Nick Markakis ground single that went under the glove of second baseman Mark Grudzielanek and into center field.

The two-out rally continued when Aubrey Huff gave the Orioles their third extra-base hit of the inning with a double off the wall in right. Huff scored on another hit to right, a single by Kevin Millar, to make it 5-1.

Kansas City cut the lead in half in the sixth when Ryan Bukvich relieved Burres. Ross Gload hit a two-out double and scored on a John Buck single. Gathright followed with his second walk before an Aviles single scored Buck.

The Royals added another run in the seventh when Dennis Sarfate, who started the inning for Baltimore, balked in a run by dropping the baseball. Guillen singled and Billy Butler reached on an infield single two batters later to put men on the corners. Sarfate then balked with Gload at-bat to score Guillen and put Butler on second. Gload eventually walked before Jim Johnson came in for Sarfate and got Buck to ground out.

Cintron left the game in the bottom of the seventh with an apparent hamstring injury after beating out a grounder for an infield single. Upon touching first base with his left foot, Cintron pulled up and grabbed the back of his left leg before Brandon Fahey, who remained in the game at shortstop, pinch-ran for him.
