National League Game Summary - Colorado at Milwaukee

Final Score: Colorado 1 - Milwaukee 11

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Dave Bush struck out a career-high 13, and the Milwaukee Brewers pounded the Colorado Rockies, 11-1, to forge a split in a four-game set.

"He threw a great game," said Brewers manager Ned Yost of Bush. "His stuff was crisp, and he was executing. His command was excellent. When you command your pitches, you throw the ball good."

Ryan Braun went 2-for-5 and drove in three for the Brewers, who have won five of seven. J.J. Hardy hit a two-run homer and scored twice, and Gabe Kapler had a three-hit day and drove in two for Milwaukee.

Bush (5-8) held the Rockies to four hits and one run, and didn't walk a batter in eight innings.

Jorge De La Rosa (3-5) was ripped for nine hits and seven runs in 3 2/3 innings, fanning five and walking two to get the loss. Clint Barmes went 2- for-4 and drove in the lone run for the Rockies, who had won five of six prior to this series.

The Brewers exploded for six runs in the fourth to take control. Bill Hall hit a one-out single to center, and Kapler doubled to right to score him. Rickie Weeks drove in a run with a two-out double to left, and Hardy walked to load the bases.

Braun then singled to left, scoring two more runs, and Prince Fielder followed with a triple to right, plating another two runs for a 7-1 Milwaukee lead.

"It seems somewhat of a consistent theme. He gets that one big inning, and he can't get out of it," said Rockies manager Clint Hurdle.

Corey Hart hit a solo homer to left with two outs in the seventh, and Kapler's RBI double later in the inning pushed the Brewers to a 9-1 lead. Hardy's two- run blast to left with two outs in the eighth capped the scoring.

Barmes singled in Willy Taveras in the first to give the Rockies a brief 1-0 lead. Braun's RBI single in the third knotted the game at 1-1.

Hart and Colorado's Matt Holliday both found out on Thursday that they made the NL All-Star team. Hart won the fan vote for the last reserve spot, and Holliday was named by Hurdle to the roster to replace injured outfielder Alfonso Soriano of the Cubs.
