American League Game Summary - Toronto at Baltimore

Final Score: Toronto 10 - Baltimore 8

Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - Adam Lind highlighted a 14-hit attack with four of his own, including a go-ahead three-run home run in the sixth, as Toronto wore down Baltimore, 10-8, in the second test of a four-game set at Camden Yards.

Lind finished 4-for-5 with two runs scored and John McDonald made the most of his 1-for-3 night with four runs batted in for the Blue Jays, who inched ahead of Baltimore into fourth place in the ultra-competitive American League East.

Jesse Carlson (2-1) was the benefactor of the offensive onslaught, pitching 1 1/3 scoreless frames. B.J. Ryan yielded one run but held on for his 19th save.

"We had a good night with the bats. We swung the bat tonight with some guys on base and got some hits," Toronto manager Cito Gaston said.

Melvin Mora hit a two-run home run, drove home five runs and finished 4-for-5, while Nick Markakis hit a two-run home run to greet Toronto starter Shaun Marcum, who gave up the bomb in his first inning after a stay on the disabled list.

Fernando Cabrera (0-1) was hit with the loss after giving up two runs in his one frame.

"Well, when you're facing a guy like Marcum and you get the runs off him early, you think you're going to be in a situation where you have a good chance to win the game," said Baltimore manager Dave Trembley. "Take nothing for granted. We let them back in the game and we just couldn't stop them"

Adam Jones was plunked by a pitch with one out in the first and Markakis followed with his 15th home run of the season -- a 1-1 slider driven out of the ballpark to right.

The Orioles got to Marcum for two more runs in the home half of the third. Jones reached on an error and Markakis walked before Aubrey Huff singled to fill the bases. Mora drove the first two runners in by hitting a 1-0 fastball to right for his 17th double of the campaign.

The game then turned into a slugfest. Toronto got one run in the fourth on McDonald's sacrifice fly before putting up a five-spot in the top of the fifth. Alex Rios homered to lead off and Lyle Overbay was hit by a pitch with one out. Lind doubled him over to third and Kevin Mench was walked to load the bases. McDonald cleared the bases with a double and came around to score on pinch-hitter Matt Stairs' single.

Baltimore regained the lead with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Huff doubled in front of Mora's two-run shot and Ramon Hernandez added a solo home run later in the inning for a 7-6 edge.

Toronto made the next move. Overbay began the two-out rally in the sixth with a single and Scott Rolen worked a walk to bring Lind to the plate. The left- fielder continued a then-perfect night with a three-run homer for a 9-7 Toronto advantage.

Rod Barajas drove home Rios with an insurance tally in the eighth. Mora's single plated Markakis in the ninth before Ryan loaded the bases on walks. Hernandez flew out to center to end the game.
