Luis Mendoza (3-4) got the win as he lasted seven frames and was touched for four runs on six hits while fanning two and walking one. He also retired the final nine batters he faced.

The Rangers rallied in the fifth to take the lead. With one gone and a 1-1 count, Davis took a Purcey slider over the fence in right-center field for a homer. Travis Metcalf was then hit by a pitch before Ian Kinsler flied out, however, Laird took an 0-2 fastball deep to right to make it 5-4.
Michael Young singled off Shawn Camp in the eighth, which brought Jesse Carlson in from the 'pen. A wild pitch sent the runner to second and a balk left him at third before Josh Hamilton walked. Byrd chipped in an RBI double, though David Murphy popped out. Brandon Boggs was intentionally walked, Davis followed with an RBI single and Vazquez offered a sac fly to center to make it 8-4.
Toronto got on the board in the first inning as Marco Scutaro drew a one-out walk and Alex Rios followed with a single. Overbay then crushed an RBI double to center and Lind kept it going with a sac fly to left. Stairs closed out the scoring with a single to left which plated Overbay, and it was 3-0 Jays.
Lind led off the fourth with a single and moved to third as Stairs followed with a base hit. Wilkerson then grounded out, allowing Lind to score, and it was a 4-0 ballgame.
