National League Game Summary - San Francisco at Atlanta

Final Score: San Francisco 5 - Atlanta 1

Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Randy Winn was 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run and two RBI and Matt Cain was efficient on the hill in San Francisco's 5-1 win over the Atlanta Braves in the first test of a four-game series.

Cain (8-9) lasted seven innings and allowed a run on six hits and a walk in addition to five strikeouts. Bengie Molina also had four hits and knocked in a pair for the Giants, who snapped a four-game slide.

Jair Jurrjens (11-8) struck out nine and gave up only two runs on eight hits in seven frames but took the loss for the Braves, who have fallen in five straight contests. Chipper Jones knocked in the only run in the defeat.

"That's just how crazy baseball is," Jurrjens said. "One day you have a good game and you lose, and one day you have a bad game and you win."

San Fran put up a run in the first as Molina poked a two-out base hit plating Fred Lewis, who stole second after grounding into a fielder's choice.

Dave Roberts single-handedly manufactured a run two innings later when he singled, stole second, advanced 90 feet on a wild pitch and sprinted home on Winn's sacrifice fly to right.

Atlanta got its only run in the sixth when Jones singled home Mark Kotsay, who was on with a leadoff double a day after hitting for the cycle.

The Giants extended the lead in the eighth, however. Winn gave the fans in the left field seats a souvenir with his 100th career homer to open the frame off Will Ohman, and three straight singles by Lewis, Molina and Travis Ishikawa made it a 4-1 game.

"[The 100th homer is] not a number I really focused on, but years from now I'll look back on it fondly," Winn said of his milestone blast.

The Braves got out of a bases-loaded, no-out jam to end that frame, but Winn doubled with one away in the ninth and came around to score two batters later on Molina's base hit to left for the four-run difference.
