Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Aaron Rowand homered and drove in two runs while Barry Zito hurled seven strong innings, as San Francisco shut down Atlanta, 5-0, in the finale of a four-game set from Turner Field.

Zito (7-15) allowed five hits without a run, fanning three and walking two for his first win since August 2.

"I had lots of pitches working. The off-speed was good and so was the fastball," Zito noted. "I had a couple good ones into lefties. It was one of my better ones. The last two starts were weird, after I lost aggressiveness a little bit. But today, I was happy to get out of the trouble when I was able to focus better."

Rich Aurilia and Pablo Sandoval also knocked in runs for the Giants, who took three of four in the series.

Starter Jorge Campillo (7-6) took the loss, charged with seven hits and five runs over 6 2/3 innings while striking out two and walking one for the Braves, who have dropped seven of their last eight.

San Francisco gave Zito all the run support he needed in the first inning.

Dave Roberts led off the game with a triple to right. After Ivan Ochoa was hit by a pitch, Fred Lewis struck out, but Rowand's liner to center allowed Roberts to tag and score. Two batters later Aurilia hit an RBI single, scoring Ochoa. Sandoval followed with a base hit that brought in Travis Ishikawa, who had singled.

Rowand's homer to deep left with one out in the sixth boosted the Giants lead to 4-0.

Sandoval and Burriss hit consecutive singles to begin the seventh. Zito grounded into a fielder's choice, then a walk to Roberts turned into a San Francisco run after Braves catcher Brian McCann inexplicably threw wild to third, allowing Burriss to score.

The Braves put two runners on in the home half on a Jeff Francoeur double and a walk to pinch-hitter Greg Norton, but Yunel Escobar grounded out to end the threat.

Atlanta had two more runners on in the eighth facing reliever Keiichi Yabu but Francoeur left them stranded with an inning-ending fly out.

Sergio Romo finished off the whitewash by retiring the Braves in order in the ninth.

"It's been a frustrating month and a half all around, not playing good baseball," said McCann. "I made a huge mental mistake today. I thought the count was 2-2. Stuff like that has been going on all year."
