Washington hosts the Bucks

Tue 11th, March 2008

(Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Bucks will try to get back on the winning track when they pay a visit to the Washington Wizards tonight at the Verizon Center.

Milwaukee has lost two in a row and five of its last six games, and just went 1-2 on a three-game homestand. In Sunday's 119-97 setback to the Philadelphia 76ers in the finale of the stand at the Bradley Center, Charlie Villanueva had a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds for the Bucks.

Michael Redd netted 19 points and Charlie Bell contributed 15 points in a losing effort. Milwaukee will try to snap a four-game skid on the road Tuesday night and owns a 6-26 mark as the guest in 2007-08. Milwaukee is 1-11 in its last 12 games at home. After this evening's contest, the Bucks will open a four-game homestand versus Utah, Boston, Miami and Cleveland.

On the injury front for the Bucks, guard Guard Maurice Williams (abdominal strain) and forward Yi Jianlian (sprained right wrist) are both listed as out against Washington. They have missed three straight games apiece.

The Wizards will resume a five-game homestand this evening and suffered a 100-97 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday. Antawn Jamison poured in 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Wizards, who have lost two of three overall and fell to 17-14 as the host this season.

Roger Mason added 15 points off the bench, while Antonio Daniels scored 14 points in defeat. Washington, which has lost six of eight at home, will also host the Cavaliers, Clippers and Hawks on the current homestand. Wizards star Caron Butler has been sidelined since February 5 with a hip injury and is expected to miss more time.

The 2007-08 season series between Milwaukee and Washington is tied at a game apiece. The Wizards have won three of four, five of seven and six of the previous 10 matchups.

Milwaukee has dropped three straight, five of six and seven of its last 11 trips to the Verizon Center.
