Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) - Amare Stoudemire posted game-highs with 29 points and 13 rebounds, as Phoenix blitzed Memphis, 132-111 at US Airways Center.
Raja Bell scored 20 points for the Suns, who have won two straight and remained three games behind the first-place Los Angeles Lakers in the Pacific Division. The Lakers beat Toronto on Tuesday night.
Gordan Giricek and Leandro Barbosa poured in 18 points each off the bench, while Grant Hill contributed 17 points, seven rebounds and dished out four assists for Phoenix.
"We came and took care of business and had good energy," Hill noted about the offensive outburst. "It's not about who we play, it's about continuing to get better."
Rudy Gay notched 20 points and eight boards for the Grizzlies, who dropped their ninth game in the last 10. Mike Miller and Darko Milicic added 12 points apiece in the loss.
The Suns finished the first quarter on a 16-4 run to take a 41-22 lead, and continued to pour it on in the second. A Steve Nash jumper with 4:13 to play in the period put Phoenix up 64-32, and a Barbosa layup closed out the half to make it 72-41.
"We played a team that is very focused," said Grizzlies head coach Marc Iavaroni. "We played them even for the first four minutes and then they went on a run and our execution broke down."
Bell's jumper with 4:32 left in the third quarter pushed the Suns over the century mark and provided a 39-point lead, and the home team cruised into the final period ahead by 30.
With a comfortable cushion, most of the starters were rested in the final 12 minutes. Giricek and Linton Johnson posted six points apiece as Phoenix rolled to victory.
